El año comenzó con el World Economic Forum hablando, en su meeting anual en Davos, sobre el concepto The Fourth Industrial Revolution. Fue uno de los principales temas. Pocas semanas después fui a una presentación sobre Internet Of Things donde los ponentes hablaron también sobre la 4a Revolución Industrial.
Internet de las Cosas, automatización, Realidad Virtual, Realidad Aumentada, Inteligencia Artificial... el año continuó con una gran cantidad de noticias y artículos sobre todas estas tecnologías, que nos vienen, de las cuales hasta hace sólo pocos años conocíamos de las películas de ciencia ficción.
La primera revolución trajo la industrialización, la segunda la producción en masa, la tercera Internet y la digitalización y la cuarta nos traerá un cambio masivo en cómo interactuamos con el mundo, construida sobre las tecnologías de la tercera.
En unos pocos años (mucha gente habla antes de 5 años), como interactuamos con el mundo habrá cambiado. Como interactuamos con las personas, como trabajamos, como nos conectamos a Internet, como viajamos...
Hoy en día ya existen pulseras que te dicen tu estado de salud y si estás durmiendo bien. Tecnología que te notifica dónde en la ciudad hay un espacio libre para aparcar el coche. O, ya se están produciendo tests con coches sin conductor. Y ésto es sólo el comienzo.
En un corto período de tiempo el mundo podría cambiar y deberíamos estar listos para el cambio. Se puede leer sobre las preocupaciones de perder trabajos, no tener nada que hacer... y es comprensible. Pero, imagino que todos esos miedos los experimentaron también la gente que sufrió la 1ª y 2ª revolución y aquí estamos. Es sólo un tema de adaptarnos a los nuevos tiempos. Si eres capaz de adaptarte triunfarás, pero si no...

The First revolution brought the industrialisation, the Second revolution the mass production, the Third brought Internet and the digitalisation and the Fourth will bring a massive change in how we interact with the world, built on top of the technology from the third.
In a few years (most people say within the next 5 years), how we interact with the world will change. How we interact with people, how we work, how we are connected to Internet, how we travel...
Nowadays we already have wristbands that tells you your health state or if your are sleeping well. Technology that notifies you where in the city there is a parking spot free. Or, there are tests with cars without driver. And this is just the beginning.
In a short period of time the world might change and we should be ready for that change. I've read a lot of concerns about losing jobs, have nothing to do... And it's understable. But, I guess that the people who experienced the 1st and 2nd revolution had all those fears also and here we are. It's just a matter of adapting ourselves to the new times. If you are able to adapt you'll success, if not...
